How do you get around, when you travel?

What services do you employ to get from place to place, when you are at your travel destination?

Did you ever wonder how people, who are used to traveling by personal vehicle, get to the various venues on their travel trip without personal transportation? Well, I do!

There are categories of travel that I want to highlight: From home to airport, from arrival in airport to the short-term rental, or hotel, and then to and from events.

From home to airport:

Personally, I like to drive to the airport because I enjoy the convenience of departure and arrival on my own terms. But, the price that one must pay to park a vehicle for several days to a week can range from $300 to $600 dollars! I have a friend who uses a driving service, like Uber or Lyft, to get to the airport, and it seems to work well for them.

From arrival in the airport to the short-term rental or hotel:

Has anyone made use of the hotel sponsored shuttle buses or vans to gain access to their hotels? If so, tell us about your experience in the comment section of this blog. Thanks!

Travel to and from Events:

How do you choose to travel to the various events that you have planned and/or scheduled? Do you tend to travel by public transportation: bus, trolley, subway, train? Or do you choose a ride share service like Uber or Lyft? Do you rent a vehicle: car, scooter, or electric bike?

I suppose that renting a vehicle for only the few days you are in venue, would be cheaper by a couple of days, if one gets to the venue first. But getting to the rental agency would still pose a challenge. Would a ride share plan work here?

I had a co-worker that used ride share effectively when we travelled together. Do you have a preference among the ride share operators? Which do you prefer and why? Please post in the Comments section. Thanks!

Which ever method you use to get around, hopefully it is reliable, cost-effective, and fun to use! Cheers!
